Georgia is home to more than 105 miles of coastal shoreline with outstanding opportunities for boating. In order to keep our coast healthy and vibrant, the Georgia General Assembly has established a law regarding anchoring.

Restricted Anchorage Areas

Certain areas in Georgia's estuarine areas prohibit overnight anchorage. These areas include sites leased for commercial shellfish harvest and recreation shellfish picking.
