GADNR Coastal Management Program Accepting Comments on 2021 – 2025 Section 309 Assessment and Strategy

The Georgia Coastal Management Program (GCMP) is accepting public comments on its proposed Section 309 Assessment and Strategy: 2021 - 2025 developed pursuant to Section 309 of the Coastal Zone Management Act. The Assessment addresses coastal management efforts and opportunities in nine Enhancement Areas identified under Section 309: Wetlands, Coastal Hazards, Public Access, Cumulative and Secondary Impacts, Ocean Resources, Government and Energy Facility Siting, Aquaculture and Special Area Management Planning. Findings from the Assessment were used to formulate a strategy, or five-year work plan, to address noted gaps in coastal management activities related to the Coastal Hazards, Wetlands, and Cumulative and Secondary Impacts Enhancement Areas.
