DNR to Host Public Hearing on Proposed Amendments to Saltwater and Freshwater Fishing Regulations

August 31, 2017–The Coastal Resources Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will host a public hearing on proposed amendments to the Rules of  Georgia Department of  Natural Resources/Coastal Resources Division, Chapter 391-2-4, Saltwater Fishing Regulations and Wildlife Resources Division, Chapter 391-4-3, Fishing Regulations.

The proposed amendments will create commercial fishing species endorsements, modify the definition of a seafood dealer, and create a definition for landing. The proposal will also revise reporting requirements for commercial fishers and seafood dealers.

A public hearing on the proposed amendments is scheduled for Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in Brunswick, Georgia at the Coastal Regional Headquarters of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The hearing will begin at 6:00pm.

Written public comments are also welcome and should be legible, concise and limited to the proposed rule change. Following the comment period, The Board of Natural Resources will consider the proposed rule on October 25, 2017 at 9:00 AM at its Board Room located at 2 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, SE, Suite 1252, Atlanta, Georgia.
