Lambert Named New Manager of Kolomoki Mounds State Park

BLAKELY, GA

Lauren Lambert is the new site manager of Kolomoki Mounds State Park in Blakely.

The announcement was made recently by the park system’s region manager, Eric Bentley.

Lambert is a Tallahassee native and received a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Parks and Tourism from the University of Florida.  She performed her internship and park-management training at F.D. Roosevelt State Park in Pine Mountain, Ga. before becoming assistant manager at Kolomoki Mounds in 2014. Lambert lives on the park with her two dogs, Rylie and Kadie.

“I’ve been in Blakely for three years and am looking forward to continuing the good relationship our park has with the community,” said Lambert. “Recently, we added an outdoor amphitheater that’s used for programming and school groups, plus we built a waddle-and-daub hut near the museum.”

Lambert said the park’s Junior Ranger Camp still has open spaces for July 10–13, which encourages children ages 8 to 12 to learn about the environment, wildlife and outdoor safety.
