The Coastal Resources Division utilizes a portion of its NOAA grant funding through the Coastal Management Program for low cost construction projects and planning that result in the preservation of important natural areas, improved public water access, or renewal of urban waterfronts. Coastal Incentive Grants have bee used for may public access projects, including trails, boat ramps, and docks. Information on Coastal Incentive Grants and previously awarded projects can be found on our Grants page . Also, Coastal Resource Specialists are available to work with communities to preserve important coastal resources and enhance public access through the Program's Technical Assistance Initiative. The Georgia Outdoor Map  is an interactive guide providing information and locations of DNR owned or managed lands offering a variety of outdoor activities.
A Public Access Guidebook  was written and produced by the University of Georgia Marine Extension Service with funding from a Coastal Incentive Grant in 2008. The Guidebook provides good information for many of the Georgia Coast's attraction's. The document has not been updated so please check with individual sites for current fees, hours, and availability.
