Cabretta Island Campground is available to groups of 10 to 25 people. Located on an island only accessible by ferry.
Sapelo is unique among Georgia’s barrier islands because of its continued primitive atmosphere. Your journey to Sapelo will begin with a half hour passenger ferry ride through beautiful tidal creeks and across Doboy Sound where you may be treated to sightings of a great variety of shorebirds as well as dolphin frolicking in the wake. Upon your arrival on the island, your duty officer host will meet you at the ferry, once your gear is loaded, you will be transported on a picturesque trailer ride to enjoy days of relaxation and adventure in one of the most remote and isolated beach campgrounds on a barrier island.
Cabretta Campground is located on Sapelo Island, nestled under spanish moss draped live oak trees, and only steps away from undeveloped beaches and surrounded by a salt water creek and pristine marshes.
This small barrier island is a unique destination along Georgia's famed Colonial Coast. Guests begin their day at the mainland visitor center, where they can learn about Sapelo's cultural history, coastal wildlife, and complex beach and dunes systems.
