The Coastal Resources Division is set to host its annual Beach Week celebration, a free, family-friendly event aimed at educating the public about the state’s coastal ecosystems.
Event Schedule:
- Monday, June 30: Great Dunes Pavilion, Jekyll Island
- Wednesday, July 2: East Beach Access Area, 4000 1st Street, St. Simons Island
- Thursday, July 3: Tybee Island Marine Science Center, 37 Meddin Drive, Tybee Island
Each day’s activities will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Beach Week offers attendees the opportunity to engage with interactive educational displays, meet with representatives from various partner agencies and divisions of the DNR, and observe live marine life exhibits. The event aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Georgia’s coastal environments.
“Beach Week is a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with the community and highlight the significance of our coastal ecosystems,” said Jennifer Kline, CRD’s Beach Week coordinator.
