Staff Report
A long-time Coastal Resources Division staffer was named Employee of the Quarter in July. Kelie Moore, CRD’s federal consistency coordinator, was honored for her “tireless efforts over the past several months getting the new permitting database up and running,” wrote CRD Director Doug Haymans in his announcement. “Though this was a team effort, Kelie took the lead and spent literally hundreds of hours proofing inputs and beta testing.”
The newly updated permitting database houses records of marsh and shore permits, beach driving authorizations, and other activities authorized by CRD under the authority of the Coastal Marshlands Protection Act and Shore Protection Act.
In her role as a federal consistency coordinator, Moore makes sure federal actions that could affect the coast are in line with the enforceable policies in the state’s federally approved coastal management program. She coordinates reviews so federal agencies, permit applicants, and grant programs stay consistent with state laws and coastal protections.
Moore has worked at CRD since 1997 and is the first person to be named Employee of the Quarter twice.
