Sitting on a whopping 17,016 acres, Bullard Creek WMA provides visitors with an array of activities ranging from hunting, wildlife viewing and great fishing on the Altamaha River. Situated in Georgia's coastal plains, Bullard Creek is a beautiful site for all to enjoy. This WMA provides hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and small game.
Directions
Montgomery tract lies to the east of HWY 221 just north of the Altamaha River and the main tract and Ocmulgee Tracts are located on the south side of the Altamaha. (Additional information at kiosk south of bridge on west side of HWY 221).
Montgomery County Tract
The Montgomery County Tract is access is limited to foot or boat travel only. No firearm deer hunting within designated archery-only areas (Montgomery County, Ocmulgee and Towns Bluff Tracts) but legal firearms permitted for turkey and small game.
Bell Telephone Tract
The Bell Telephone Tract (491 acres) is a hunting area on Bullard Creek WMA that allows deer (archery only), small game and turkey hunting.
Directions
From Hazlehurst: Take South Cromartie Street south from Highway 135. It will turn into Bell Telephone Road. The tract will be on the right approximately 11 miles south of Hazlehurst. There will be a sign-in kiosk located on the site for hunters to sign in prior to hunting.
