CRD announces subtidal mariculture leasing lottery

The State of Georgia requests applicants for a lottery devised to grant three subtidal water bottoms leases bearing exclusive rights for commercial shellfish production.

The subtidal water bottoms leases shall primarily be used for the purpose of intensive mariculture of Eastern Oysters (Crassostrea virginica) using floating gear.

This lottery will award three individual leases of 10 acres each with an annual lease fee of $50 per acre. These leases are located in Mud River, McIntosh County, northwest of Sapelo Island.
