In concordance with and in response to Governor Kemp’s April 2 Executive Order (04.02.20.01), Department of Natural Resources Commissioner Mark Williams has signed an Administrative Order on the use of beaches.
The use of chairs, tents and umbrellas will be prohibited on Georgia’s beaches seaward of the ordinary high-water mark, effective at 6 p.m. April 3, 2020 through 11:59 p.m. April 13, 2020.

The Coastal Resources Division (CRD) of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources today released the 10th annual Coastal Georgia Ecosystem Report Card.
A collaboration of local and state government and community partners is set to host an open house event aimed at informing and engaging the public on vital flood management strategies for the Lanier Boulevard corridor in Brunswick.
Six lucky anglers, drawn at random from participants who either donated fish carcasses or reported tagged fish during 2022 and 2023, have been rewarded for their participation in the Georgia Cooperative Angler Program.
This serves as a notification from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources of the issuanceof a Letter of Permission (LOP) to SCAD to host a Sand Arts Festival on the dry sand beach north of the Pier on Tybee Island. The one-day event is scheduled for May 3, 2024.
