NOTICE OF PROPOSED REGULATION CHANGES

SUBJECT: Proposed Amendments to the Saltwater Fishing Regulations, Rules 391-2-4-.16 and 391-2-4-.17
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to authority contained in O.C.G.A. §§ 27-1-4, 27-2-23, 27-2-23.2, 12-2-24, and 27-4-10, the Board of Natural Resources proposes to amend the Saltwater Fishing Regulations, Subject 391-2-4. The proposed amendments will establish a recreational reef/migratory fish endorsement, provide for recreational angler reporting requirements and reporting elements.
Written public comments will be received through Friday, October 30, 2026. Mailed comments must be postmarked by October 30th, and e-mailed comments will be accepted through close of business (4:30 pm) on October 30th. Comments should be legible, concise, and limited to the proposed rule change.
Following this comment period, the Board of Natural Resources will consider the proposed rules on Tuesday, December 1, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Lake Blackshear Resort, 2459 US-280 West, Cordele, GA 31015.
