Chatham County, Georgia

This serves as a notification from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources of the issuance
of a Letter of Permission (LOP) to Tybee Island Marine Science Center to host a 5k race and sea turtle release with related amenities on the beach adjacent to the Tybee Island Marine Science Center on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

The project scope includes the temporary installation of all equipment as outlined in attached 2025 Turtle Trot Project Description and Site Plan.

Public Comment on Proposed Shellfish Harvest Rule

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR) Coastal Resources Division (CRD) is inviting public input on a proposed amendment to the state's Saltwater Fishing Regulations, Rule 391-2-4-.19. The proposed changes would establish requirements for shellfish harvest during closed seasons, enhance tagging and shading regulations, and outline procedures for harvest closures in response to public health concerns.
