Derelict vessel safely removed

The Lady Raven, a shrimping vessel that sank during Hurricane Helene in September 2024, was successfully removed from the East River in Brunswick on April 15. Coastal Resources Division oversaw the operation, utilizing funds generated from commercial fishing license sales. Salonen Marine, a local marine contractor, conducted the removal.​

Free family fishing event set for June 7th

Economics of artificial reefs set as topic for May lunch-and-learn

On Thursday, May 22, from noon to 1 p.m., Coastal Resources Division will host a Brownbag Presentation on the Economic Benefits of Georgia’s Artificial Reef Program featuring Dr. Eugene Frimpong of the University of Georgia Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant. The talk is free, open to the public, and will be held at the Susan Shipman Environmental Learning Center, 1 Conservation Way, Brunswick, GA 31520.
